Mini-Retreat: Living a “Yogic Lifestyle” (Part One, continued over Labor Day Weekend Retreat)

August 13, 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (This retreat can be taken by itself, or in conjunction with the Labor Day Weekend Retreat, which will build upon the ideas introduced today)

Yoga is much more than a series of body postures. In its fullest expression yoga is a discipline, a path, and ultimately a way of life.  This retreat is an introduction to some of the components of yoga as a “lifestyle.” The retreat will include yoga asana, an introduction to yogic philosophy (with an opportunity for discussion and questions), breath-work or “pranayama,” and a fuller conversation about what it means to adapt yoga as an approach toward healthy living. This is the first in a series of mini-retreats that will be offered on this topic at Aloft Studios.  COST: $70.00

Schedule for the Day

9:00 – 9:30 Welcome/Intro to the Day

9:30 – 10:30 Meditation, gentle yoga, get body comfortable

10:30- 11:30  What do we mean by a “Yogic Lifestyle?”

11:30 – 12:30  Break

12:30 – 3:30  Some Traditional Components of a Yogic Lifestylle, including Asana, Pranayama, Meditation, Yogic Philosophy,  Ayurveda . . . .My yogic lifestyle?

3:30 – 4:00 Closing practice
